Time has spun out of control.
You hear it everywhere.
How is it November already? It’s almost 2025? Where did the time go?
That’s so last week.
Everything has accelerated. AI found its legs with ChatGPT. The job market is changing at an unprecedented rate. Market cycles seem to come and go at twice the usual speeds. Entertainment is lucky to be relevant culturally for more than a couple of days.
Before you can even say the word rizz some new slang is already being thrown around by the cool kids online.
It’s a bit Ohio (did I do that right?).
Constant learning is a requirement.
To thrive in a time of acceleration, one must become adaptable. It’s not enough to have a large bank of specific knowledge in a single sector. Who knows when that knowledge becomes obsolete?
To really thrive, one must be able to change. To gain new, relevant knowledge quickly. To pivot.
If you can’t do this, it’s a bit like running a race backwards—eventually you're gonna miss a turn.
It’s not enough to rely on knowledge gained through formal education.
The aim of formal education is to prepare you to learn for the rest of your life. It’s not to give you all the answers and let you coast on them for the remainder of it.
You have to be able to define the ingredients for your next meal on your own. You have to be adaptable.
Combine opposites.
The most interesting people are contradictions.
The person who is both a scholar and an athlete.
The person who enjoys math and philosophy.
The person interested in AI and human psychology.
Having broad interests makes us a more T-shaped individual, making us more attractive in most settings. A wider breadth of knowledge, and certain topics with which we go deep.
Of course, becoming such an individual can be a tiring process. It requires reinventing yourself. Becoming a beginner, again and again, and always being open to new ideas and perspectives.
The only real way to accomplish it is through genuine curiosity.

I can't understand why some people aren't curious! I want to know everything about everything and understand how the world works. How the sausage is made, even if it's gross!
Some people seem to show no interest in anything and seem happy trudging along doiong what they always have.
Stay curious 🧐
